Course 2: Shared outcomes about the kinds of children we are helping to develop

We all agree about the skills and qualities children need if they are to become successful in their future lives.

1 day (4 x 90 minutes)

2 days (8 x 90 minutes)

By the end of this unit, you will:

  1. Be able to identify the key qualities of the children we are helping to develop
  2. Be able to reflect on the links between learning and teaching and the children that we are helping to develop
  3. Know how the qualities you have identified match those that are implicit and explicit in the IPC learning goals

IPC Members

By the end of this unit, you will:

  1. Have consolidated your knowledge and awareness of the children you would like to develop and be able to provide evidence to support your choices
  2. Know about what kinds of classroom activities and actions help children develop the qualities that you have identified
  3. Be able to make a judgement about the extent to which your school has a shared view about the children we are helping to develop
  4. Be able to relate these to the IPC learning goals and classroom activities
  5. Be able to use the IPC Accreditation rubrics to make an initial evaluation of your school’s current status

By the end of this unit, you will:

  1. Articulated explicitly the characteristics of the children we are helping to develop and how this significantly impacts on all aspects of school life
  2. Been able to justify your school’s documented shared outcomes and relate this to future learning
  3. Be able to fully explain the relationship between your identified outcomes for children and the International Primary Curriculum
  4. Considered how all , including new, stakeholders will have a shared vision which is articulated and explicit in all aspects of school life
  5. Be able to use the IPC Accreditation rubric to make an evaluation of your school’s current status
