Developing Level

IPC Main programme

(3 day course) (Monday 26th,Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th July)

This course will guide you through implementing and using the IPC Main programme in your school environment. Throughout the course there will be the opportunity to reflect on your own practice, gain knowledge and further your skills in working with the IPC Main Programme, learn and share a wide range of practical ideas to enhance children’s learning and have time to share and learn from experiences with international colleagues.

By the end of the course you will:

  • develop in depth knowledge about the subject, personal and international goals and how they link
  • know about creating an interactive IPC classroom that supports, celebrates and challeges learners
  • be able to develop a wide range of strategies to support the implementation of the IPC Main programme in the classroom
  • be able to share your understanding about the IPC philosophy and beliefs with others as you learn together
  • be able to plan a detailed route through new and existing units
  • be able to plan creatively and in depth for IPC Units

Michelle has been a Headteacher for the past 8 years in two inner city primary schools in London. Her previous school has implemented IPC for the past four years with fantastic results and she brought it to her new school when she started there in September 2009. The school is already reaping the benefits and has moved from 'Special Measures' to 'Good' in 4 months. Michelle credits the use of IPC as a major contributor to this.

Prior to her current headship, Michelle has worked in five other primary schools both in London and Australia, where she originates. She has held a variety of leadership roles and is passionate about engaging children in real and creative ways.
In her recent OFSTED inspection, she was described as ‘inspirational’.
