Description

A unit for children aged 9-12 years

This unit will focus on the World Cup.

In Geography, children’ll be:

  • Finding out about the stadiums where the World Cup tournaments are being held

  • Finding out about the surrounding area of each of the stadiums

  • Finding out how we would travel around South Africa

In History, children’ll be:
  • Finding out about some of the previous World Cup events
  • Finding out about the recent history of South Africa

In Physical Education, children’ll be:

  • Developing our skills in football training, using ICT to analyse our progress

  • Designing an exercise programme for another person

In Music, children’ll be:
  • Finding out about music by a South African band and choosing music to be played during the Exit Point
  • Listening to a famous South African singer and learning how to play the drum

In ICT, children’ll be:
  • Using the Internet to find information about the World Cup

  • Using ICT to record our work
